CraigCare's Head Chef Ian Burman

Our Chefs Prepare Nutritionally Sound Meals Daily

Every CraigCare residential aged care home has a qualified chef or cook who creates fresh and varied meals for our residents. Our catering team is led by our innovative Head Chef Ian Burman who is CraigCare’s National Hotel Services Manager.

Ian has 44 years’ experience in the food and dining industry – 20 of those years working in the aged care sector.

Ian is highly regarded in the industry as a food and dining specialist with a strong person-centred care approach to meal service delivery. Ian leads the catering team in delivering our residents a wide variety of choices in meals and is responsible for overseeing CraigCare’s very high standards in food safety.

Some of Ian’s signature dishes include:

  • Lasagne of all sorts – beef, chicken, seafood and vegetarian
  • Japanese Nori rolls
  • Fall-off-the-bone BBQ spare ribs
  • Okonomiyaki pancake
  • Rhubarb and apple crumble
  • Pumpkin, ginger and date scones

For Ian, the most rewarding part of his job is not only in the words of thanks from our residents and families but the empty plates left after meal time and the many requests for seconds.
