Our much-loved resident, Valda, has been a long-standing role model in our Glenroy community in demonstrating the importance of keeping healthy and fit and to keep moving, regardless of age.
Valda has always been socially and physically active in one way or another. If you’ve grown up in the Pascoe Vale South area and have been a regular attendee at either Glenroy Club or Preston Club as a tennis player, or been a Scottish dancer at East Keilor, Brunswick, Glenroy and Victorian Scottish Dancing Society, then you have probably come across Valda.
These days, Valda leaves our home once a week to attend a local line dancing community group where she watches on with great enjoyment and provides ‘coaching and tips’ to the dancers. She also stays connected to her love for line dancing through her regular attendance at the Probis Club in Essendon. Valda is proof that you can stay meaningfully connected to the community activities you’ve always enjoyed, regardless of age.
