The highest point of the suburb is named after the area, reaching a height of 160 meters (520 ft). The peak was named in 1836 after Captain William Hobson’s mother, Martha Jones. It also marks the beginning of the Selwyn fault, a geological formation that extends to the eastern Dandenong Ranges.
