Remembering Our Heroes This Anzac Day

Anzac Day in Albany: Honouring Our Heroes

On Anzac Day, we came together to reflect, remember, and honour the brave soldiers who gave so much for our country. It was a day to pause, to pay tribute, and to express our deepest gratitude. “Lest We Forget.”

Our Anzac Day service was a heartfelt one, led by our dedicated volunteer, Jane, and a member of the RSL who graciously joined us to assist and share stories with our residents. Their presence added a special touch, reminding us all of the importance of remembrance.

Our beautiful Anzac-inspired table runners, crafted with love by our talented seamstress Suzanne, added a meaningful visual tribute to the occasion. The day was made even more memorable with a delicious sausage sizzle, cooked with care by our resident Warren. His dedication to making the day special didn’t go unnoticed, and it brought a comforting sense of community to our gathering.

A huge thank you to Lyn for sharing her musical talents with us. Her piano playing filled the air with a serene, soulful quality that added to the reflective atmosphere of the day. It’s always a joy to hear Lyn play, and on this day, her music was especially moving.

This Anzac Day was a time to honour our soldiers, reflect on their sacrifices, and express our heartfelt thanks. We are so grateful to everyone who contributed to making the day meaningful for our residents. Together, we remembered and gave thanks in a truly special way.
